Industrial
NovoSpill
Hydrocarbon spill bioremediation
The setting
An industrial site where routine workshop wash-bay discharge was accumulating in a concrete-lined settlement dam, roughly 230kg of TPH entering it every month.
The problem
The dam was holding close to 2 tons of total petroleum hydrocarbons. Excavation and off-site purification were logistically difficult and expensive; chemical dispersants risked harming the surrounding ecosystem.
How NovoSpill helped
NovoSpill was applied directly to the dam surface in three treatments over a 5-month period, calibrated to the estimated TPH load.
Result
TPH levels dropped 85% within 3 months of the first application, with a further 90% reduction following the second and third treatments.
Industrial settlement dam, ~230kg TPH/month inflow
